Did/do any of the band members have kids? And if so are/were they in the biz, too? Can’t imagine what the kids’ lives must have been like with these guys for dads. Reading your series, it seems like the Stones have always managed to pull a rabbit out of their hat at the last possible minute–and kept rolling despite themselves. This May, they return to that long and winding road… Amazing!

This blog series should be required reading for all would-be rock stars. Your info would help them avoid what happened to the Stones, Creedence, Billy Joel, Badfinger, Blondie, The Stray Cats and many other fiscally unlucky musicians. Some of those acts were lucky to have careers so long that they could “right the ship” in time. Others (like Badfinger) paid a heavy price and never recovered.

Against all odds, the Stones survived. Remember when we were making jokes about the “The STEEL WHEEL-CHAIR Tour” back in the 80s??!! Like then, people still wonder at the crooked shenanigans of corporations, car manufacturers, politicians, stock brokers and religious leaders. I guess everything new is old and then new again. And we’ll never know how many great artists died broke because they trusted some creep in a Countess Mara tie.

Ah yes, the Maysles brothers: Albert and David. They did the documentary Grey Gardens. Aunt Edith and Little Edie of East Hampton; aunt and cousin to Jackie Kennedy. If you want to watch a documentary filled with epic dysfunction, this is the movie for you! Huge cult following. Did not know the Maysles brothers filmed a doc on The Rolling Stones back in the day. Small world indeed.
